According to the reports in April 2025, the popular Nigerian human rights activist was arrested and detained, while others suggested he had died.

A Facebook user shared a picture of Ahmed Isah with the caption: “The Unexplainable arrest of Ahmed Isah (Ordinary President) of Brekete Family is so shameful.. Our justice system is failing…Nigeria is gradually getting grounded…Nigeria is failing…I weep for my country…”

Checks by FactSpace Nigeria established that Ahmed Isah is neither arrested nor detained, indicating the viral post is false.

In an audio published on Brekete Family on X, Ahmed Isah could be is heard saying: “Today, Wednesday, April 30, I, the Ordinary President, I am talking to the world, first of all I would like to tell people who felt genuinely concerned that I am in detention or even dead. 

“It started with the news that I was detained, arrested and eventually died, I have even seen my obituary, for those who are happy that I died, don’t rush, I will not be alive forever, I may soon die, the only thing is that nobody can kill me before my time. As I speak to you now, I am not in any detention or arrested, and this is my real voice, not AI
