Accra – July 29, 2026: FactSpace West Africa has held a Media and Information Literacy (MIL) outreach programme for students of St. John’s Grammar Senior High School in Accra as part of efforts to equip young people with the knowledge and skills to safely navigate today’s digital environment.
The outreach, held on Wednesday, July 29, focused on helping students understand their digital responsibilities and make informed decisions online. Through interactive presentations and discussions, students learned about digital footprints, online safety, information verification, and the responsible use of social media.
Gifty Danso, a research associate at FactSpace West Africa led a session on digital footprints, explaining that every online action leaves a lasting digital record that can influence future opportunities, including university admissions, employment, and international travel.
She encouraged students to be mindful of what they post online and to cultivate a positive digital identity.

Samuel Adjetey Adjei, a research associate at FactSpace West Africa shared practical tips on how students can navigate the digital space responsibly and how to also protect themselves online.
Mr. Adjetey further stressed the importance of verifying information before sharing it on social media. He encouraged students to rely on credible sources to reduce the spread of misinformation and disinformation.
Madam Dorothy Asamoah, Dean of Student Discipline at St. John’s Grammar SHS, said the topics covered during the outreach were timely and relevant to the student community. “In all, it was excellent. And all the points are so important as far as the topic was concerned,” she said.
