The video posted on the wall of Facebook user Daddy Fifty James had an inscription that read: “Elon Musk just arrived at Davido’s white wedding in Miami USA,” with the post caption which read “Elon Musk at Davido’s wedding.”

On August 18, a week after the video was posted, it had garnered 1.9 million views with 35,000 reactions and 2,000 comments.

False! Elon Musk did not attend Davido’s Miami wedding

This report will fact-check the claim that Musk attended Davido’s wedding.

Fact-check

Davido, real name David Adeleke, and his partner Chioma Rowland, held their white wedding in Miami on August 11, 2025. The plush event was attended by scores of friends and family and some Nigerian celebrities.

It is on the same day that the video alleging that Elon Musk had attended the ceremony was also shared, giving the narrative some credibility.

Using Google reverse image search, FactSpace Nigeria traced the video to Elon’s attendance at a Formula 1 event. The event, which took place in October 2023, became popular at the time because of Musk’s use of the Cybertruck.

In a 12-second video shared by the motortrend.com portal with the caption “Musk Spotted at F1 U.S. Grand Prix With New Cybertruck,” Musk is seen with his son, leaving the event, surrounded by security detail as people scrambled to get photos and videos of the X owner and his truck.

“The 11th running of Formula 1’s United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas,” Motor Trend wrote about the event Musk attended.

The Davido-Chioma wedding was also held at the Mana Wynwood Convention Centre, a stunning waterfront venue overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, while in the video showing Musk and his truck, there is the inscription The 44 Club.

We browsed news articles and videos (here, here, here) shared from the Chioma-Davido (#ChiVido) wedding, as published by entertainment portals and by bloggers and nowhere is Elon Musk captured as having attended.

If he had attended, new websites across the world and especially those in Nigeria would have reported about it.

Verdict

Therefore, the viral claim that Elon Musk attended Davido’s wedding is False.
