A WhatsApp message with an attached link claims that popular Zimbabwean Islamic scholar, Mufti Ismail Menk is offering 100,000 naira giveaway to Nigerians as part of his ongoing charitable and humanitarian efforts for the Ramadan season.
While advertising a 100,000 naira cash giveaway, a portion of the message urges people to click an attached URL to receive 50,000 naira instantly.

This report will verify the authenticity of the claim and the link.
Fact-Check
FactSpace West Africa investigated the link with a step-by-step process that first took us to a landing page that congratulates users for being “eligible” to receive a 100,000 naira Ramadan cash gift, and prompts them to click “OK” to activate the reward.

The link subsequently opens to a webpage displaying a photo of Mufti Menk holding bundles of cash, alongside the message: “100,000 Ramadan Cash Giveaway to All Nigerians.”
The page also shows testimonials from the supposed beneficiaries claiming to have already received the money. The message on the page reads:
“As part of his Ramadan humanitarian outreach, Mufti Ismail ibn Musa Menk is providing ₦100,000 cash assistance to Nigerians in support of welfare and community empowerment during the holy month of Ramadan. Click on ‘Get Now’ to receive yours.”
Users are urged to click the “Get Now” button to proceed.

Upon clicking “Get Now,” users are prompted to provide personal details, including their bank account number and bank name.
After submitting these details, users are then instructed to share the link with five WhatsApp groups or fifteen contacts before the verification bar is completed.

This pattern of requesting personal financial details and encouraging mass sharing is consistent with phishing and scam tactics, rather than legitimate charitable initiatives.
Using the WHOIS information for the domain name -mufti-foundation-ng.earngo.pro, FactSpace West Africa found out that the website was registered on November 11, 2025, and will expire on the same date this year. WHOIS information also shows that the website was created in Iceland.

FactSpace West Africa also visited Mufti Menk’s verified social media accounts (Facebook, X, TikTok) and official website, and found no post announcing or supporting such a cash giveaway.
On December 24, 2025, Mufti Menk warned followers on his official Facebook page about fraudulent and AI-generated content circulating online in his name, image, and voice without his authorisation. He advised followers to rely only on information shared through his verified social media accounts and cautioned against impersonation and scams.
The absence of any verified announcement with the warning issued by Mufti Menk further undermined the credibility of the claim.
Verdict
The claim that Mufti Menk is offering 100,000 naira to Nigerians through a WhatsApp link is a scam.
